The Austrian Soil Science Society in cooperation with EJP SOIL, BOKU and B5 Corporate Soil Competence meets on 17 September in Vienna. The meeting with the overarching theme ‘Mission Soil.at – Retrospect and Prospect’ will be hosted by NBSOIL partner BOKU. Austria has a thriving community of soil experts who are actively involved in presenting current research, networking and looking to the future.
The European Joint Programme “EJP SOIL” will end in January 2025, with Austria having successfully participated in 19 projects. This raises the following questions: What are the most important results and how do they benefit Austria?
In the meantime, several large national soil projects and EU “Mission Soil” programmes have been launched. What do these projects cover and what gaps remain? What additional scientific research is needed and where can contributions be made? Discussions will focus on Austrian needs within the specific objectives of these initiatives.
