This work package (WP) will gather existing knowledge regarding nature-based solutions (NBS) for soils and soils as NBS for climate change mitigation and adaptation, biodiversity recovery, reduction of fossil fuels and synthetic inputs dependence, disaster prevention, food security, and employment creation in the agricultural, forestry and urban planning sectors. This WP will work with WP2 to provide soil advisors with a coherent approach to soil sampling, testing and data gathering capacity in support of the Soil Mission Objectives. |
This work package (WP) will develop specific in-depth research and testing of the most promising NBS categories to fill in existing knowledge gaps, relying on the base knowledge developed in WP1, and will provide a basis for the learning materials and field visits developed in WP3. |
This work package (WP) will develop a comprehensive training programme for next generation soil advisors and advisory services. It will engage with advisory services across the EU and associated countries to strengthen the knowledge and skills base to provide impartial advice on soils and sustainable management incorporating evidence and insights from WP2 and WP4. Through the establishment of pilots, a curriculum of training resources to raise soil literacy will be codesigned, developed, trialled and validated. |
This work package (WP) will work together with WP2 and WP3 to inform existing and future advisors on the use of available technologies for land and soil monitoring such as: satellite imagery, information from hyperspectral and multispectral cameras or the use of soil sensors for in-situ data collection |
This work package (WP) will support development training in WP2 by mapping and analysing the existing business ecosystem and policy framework. It will also engage stakeholders and business/value chain actors, deliver policy recommendations relevant to the Soil Mission, CAP, EU BiodivStrategey and Farm to Fork, and provide a plan to upscale NBS for soil health based on NBSOIL results and its training and advice-giving methodology. |
This work package (WP) will maximise the project’s impact at all levels, engaging stakeholders through targeted communication and outreach activities. This includes disseminating project results to a broad audience and planning the sustainability of the project’s results to ensure impact beyond the funding period, including through the project results’ commercial exploitation. |
This work package (WP) will guide the project towards delivery of expected results, addressing the expected outcomes and eventually achieving impacts beyond project’s duration. Ensure the correct development and implementation of the project in time and budget. Manage risks and day-to-day management. Ensure deliverables and milestones in time and quality. It will also be responsible for assuring quality of learning and operational procedures, and making sure that gender and inclusivity aspects are well address in the project.
This work package (WP) will ensure compliance with the ‘ethics requirements’ set out in this work package. |
