Tools

The NBSOIL Project provides innovative tools and resources to help soil advisors and farmers assess and improve soil health. From the Health Index Tool to an interactive knowledge map and open soil data library, our solutions provide science-based insights for sustainable soil management.

ARIES-NBSOIL Open Library

The ARIES-NBSOIL Open Library provides free access to a rich collection of soil health variables and modelling components through ARIES semantic web services. After a simple registration, users can explore soil properties and evaluate soil health using indicator-based queries customised by location and time period.

Resources For Soil Advisors Interactive Map

The NBSOIL interactive map helps soil advisors locate resources in four categories: training, tools, social media, and written materials. It allows filtering by country, language, access type, and cost. Built on GoGoCarto, it supports open contributions and is regularly curated.

NBSOIL Health Index Tool

The NBSOIL Health Index Tool is a web-based platform for soil advisors and farmers, integrating data from labs, satellites, and digital tools to assess soil health. It uses the Soil Management Assessment Framework (SMAF) methodology to generate soil function scores, aiding management decisions through intuitive radar plot visualizations.
